What’s worse than flunking 9th-grade algebra? Having exactly one year to slaughter thirteen invisible ancient demons before they end the world.
IDW Publishing has officially announced 13 Demons Dead, a high-octane, manga-inspired graphic novel from acclaimed video game writer Adam Tierney (River City Girls, Silent Hill) and Italian comic sensation Saspy (Hadez, Rugrats). The 250-page black-and-white adventure hits shelves on August 4, 2026.
A Very Bad First Impression
Fourteen-year-old Everly “Ev” Espada was trying to walk home when she saw her favorite teacher being shredded in midair by… nothing. Ev swings a pipe, shatters an illusion, and accidentally kills a monstrous demon in the middle of her school. By killing one of Earth’s “Thirteen Hidden Demons,” Ev has triggered an ancient covenant. She is now the designated hunter, and the other twelve are already hunting her. The rules are simple and brutal: slay all thirteen within one year, or they return more powerful and utterly unstoppable.
From the Creators
Author Adam Tierney had this to say, “13 Demons Dead combines everything I love writing about—horror, humor, demons, high school, bullies, and heartbreak… I’ve never had the opportunity to create my own comic book until now!”
Illustrator Saspy said, “I saw a lot of myself in Ev—being calm by nature but wild within, having to face things way bigger than us despite our young age.”
Teen Angst Meets the Supernatural
If you like your horror with a side of grit and teen angst, this is for you. Adam Tierney brings his massive experience from writing games like Aliens and Silent Hill to a story that balances supernatural warfare with the everyday nightmare of being a teenager.
