Who says you have to wait for October to get your adrenaline fix? Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, New Line Cinema, and Dolby Cinemas at AMC are teaming up for the third annual Halfway to Halloween event—and they’re breaking the tradition of “library screenings” to give fans something much more aggressive. This year, the event centers on the massive, one-night-only premiere event for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy on April 16 at 7 PM.

The Main Event: A Brand-New Premiere

For the first time, “Halfway to Halloween” is debuting in a brand-new theatrical release. This isn’t just a movie night; it’s an across-the-board opening night happening in Dolby Cinema across 183 AMC locations in 47 cities nationwide.

Why You Should Be Terrified

Writer-director Lee Cronin (Evil Dead Rise) isn’t playing around with this reboot. He wants this to be a visceral, skin-crawling experience.

“I wanted to make a movie that gets under your skin in the most literal way possible,” says Cronin. “There are images in this film that are going to make you look away and not be able to stop looking at the same time.”

By screening in Dolby Cinema, you’re getting full-precision audio and laser projection. When the ancient dread starts whispering, you’re going to hear it—and feel it—from every direction.

A Message from Jason Blum

Blumhouse founder Jason Blum knows his audience: “Horror fans don’t wait for Halloween. They live in it all year. This year we wanted to give them something they’ve never had from Halfway to Halloween: opening night!”

Participating Cities

The event is hitting almost every major hub, including Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Phoenix, Seattle, and dozens more. If you live near an AMC with a Dolby Cinema, chances are you’re in the splash zone.

With the combined power of the “House That Freddy Built” (New Line) and the modern titans at Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, The Mummy is looking like the must-see horror event of the spring.
