Move over, pop princesses—there’s a new star rising in Los Angeles, and her “breakout” performance is literally leaving people in pieces. Two Witches Films has dropped a brutal new Red Band trailer for the award-winning horror feature Frankie, Maniac Woman, and let’s say the setlist is mostly screams.
If you weren’t at Grimmfest 2025 to see lead star Dina Silva snag the Best Actress trophy, don’t panic. You can catch the “chaotic, soulful bloodbath” for yourself when it slashes into select theaters this April.
Fame, Fat-Shaming, and Femicide
Set in the neon-drenched, shallow waters of the LA music industry, the film follows Frankie Ramirez (Silva), an aspiring singer-songwriter who is officially “over it.”
Tired of being told she doesn’t “fit the image” and fueled by a volatile cocktail of childhood trauma and industry-mandated insecurity, Frankie finally snaps. But she isn’t writing a revenge ballad—she’s embarking on a high-octane killing spree where the body count rises faster than a viral TikTok trend.
A Slasher with a Soul
Director Pierre Tsigaridis (Two Witches) isn’t interested in a masked killer who stays silent in the shadows. He wants you to feel every punchline and every puncture wound.
“I wanted to make the kind of slasher that feels dangerous again,” says Tsigaridis. “Frankie’s descent is a reflection of the pressures we put on women in image-driven industries.”
By blending pitch-black comedy with visceral brutality, Tsigaridis has crafted a character study that asks: What happens when you push a talented woman past her breaking point? Hint: It involves a lot of plastic wrap and very little mercy.
A Career-Defining Performance
Dina Silva didn’t just star in the film—she co-wrote and executive-produced it, making Frankie her most personal role to date. Leveraging her background in comedy, Silva leans into the absurdity of the “LA Dream” while grounding the violence in raw, terrifying authenticity.
“She represents every version of myself that felt unseen or judged,” Silva explains. “I didn’t want to hold anything back.”
The Ensemble: A Deadly Lineup
Joining Silva in this musical massacre is a cast that knows their way around a nightmare. That includes Stefanie Estes, Tim Fox, and Jordan Debarge. Rocío de la Grana, Daniella Mendoza, and director Pierre Tsigaridis round out the cast.
Mark Your Calendars
Forget the Grammys; this is the only music industry event that matters this spring. Frankie, Maniac Woman arrives in select theaters on April 24, 2026.
If you’ve ever wanted to see the music industry get exactly what’s coming to it, Frankie is ready to take your request. Just don’t ask for an encore—you probably won’t survive the first set.
