Change of plans, action junkies! You’ll have to hold your breath just a few weeks longer, as Lionsgate has shifted the release date for their high-octane martial arts epic. The Furious is now officially set to storm into U.S. theaters on Friday, June 12, 2026.

If you were looking for a sign to never mess with a martial arts master’s family, this is it. The Furious is a relentless revenge thriller that proves when the police are on the take, and your daughter is gone, the only logical solution is to kick your way to the top of the food chain.

The Dynamic Duo of Destruction

The film features a pairing that essentially guarantees the stunt team earned every penny of their hazard pay. Xie Miao (The New Legend of Shaolin): Stars as Wang Wei, a man on a rampage after a criminal syndicate snatches his daughter. And Joe Taslim (Mortal Kombat, The Raid): Plays Navin, a relentless journalist searching for his own missing wife.

Two desperate men, one massive grudge, and enough flying kicks to shift the Earth’s orbit. Seeing Taslim and Miao share the screen is a “creature feature” of a different kind—a showcase of peak physical performance.

The Architects of Chaos

If the action looks particularly crisp, thank director Kenji Tanigaki (Enter the Fat Dragon). He’s working from a script polished by a team of genre legends, including Mak Tin Shu (Kung Fu Jungle) and Shum Kwan Sin (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In).

The production pedigree is equally lethal, with the legendary Bill Kong (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and Shan Tam (Rumble in the Bronx) on board. To round out the carnage, the cast includes genre icons like Yayan Ruhian (The Raid) and Jeeja Yanin (Chocolate).

A Global Heavyweight

Before making its way to your local multiplex, The Furious spent its time collecting gasps and standing ovations at the world’s premiere genre festivals, including TIFF, Sitges, and Busan. Critics are already calling it a masterclass in modern stunt choreography.

Mark Your Calendars

Get ready for a revenge-filled masterclass in bone-breaking cinema. The Furious hits theaters Friday, June 12, 2026. Clear your schedule and bring some popcorn.
