Remember when opening a pack of trading cards was the highlight of your week? Last Look is here to ensure you never look at a booster pack the same way again. Producers Eric Martinez and Curt Fulster have just dealt the first hand of their upcoming found-footage nightmare, and let’s say these aren’t exactly holographic Charizards.
Unboxing Your Own Demise
The film follows a high-profile influencer who stumbles upon a mysterious deck of battle-style collectible cards. But instead of gaining” attack points,” he gains a one-way ticket to a living hell.
As he broadcasts his “unboxing” to the world, he discovers that each of the five distinct cards in the deck has a nasty habit of summoning a grotesque, supernatural entity into his very real, very trapped sanctuary. It’s a high-stakes game where the final draw—the titular” Last Look”—promises exactly what it says on the tin.
“Jumanji” for the Twitch Generation
Directed by A.J. Bennett, the film aims to weaponize nostalgia. As the producers put it:
“We wanted to take that childhood sense of wonder you’d find in something like Jumanji and twist it into something unrecognizable. The audience is right there with the protagonist—stuck behind the lens, waiting to see what nightmare crawls out of the next card.”
Why Found Footage?
By blending the “w intensity” of modern horror with the visceral nature of a live stream, Last Look explores that uncomfortable intersection where digital fame meets physical terror. It’s the ultimate “don’t forget to like and subscribe” moment—mostly because it might be the last thing he ever posts. Directed by A.J. Bennett, the film is produced by Eric Martinez and Curt Fulster.
The new trailer is officially out, and it’s practically begging you to play the game. Maybe keep your old card collection locked in the attic for a while after watching.
