If you missed Osgood Perkins’ latest slice of folk horror in theaters—which, judging by the box office numbers, almost all of you did—you’ll soon be able to stream it from the comfort of your own couch. Hulu has officially announced that Keeper, starring Marvel alum Tatiana Maslany, will land on the platform this June.
The film’s journey to streaming has been a swift one following its underwhelming theatrical run. Neon originally dropped the film in theaters on November 14, 2025, where it limped to a dismal $6.2 million global haul against an estimated $6 million production budget. After failing to spark a fire at the box office, it quietly slipped onto digital storefronts on December 9, 2025, before hitting physical media (Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K) on January 20, 2026.
Anniversaries, Cabins, and Inevitable Doom
Written by Nick Lepard, Keeper follows a couple who decide to celebrate their anniversary with a weekend getaway at a secluded cabin. In true horror fashion, the romantic retreat quickly goes off the rails. As bizarre, haunting occurrences begin to plague their stay, the couple is forced to dig into the property’s deeply unsettling history.
Alongside Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), the film features an ensemble cast including Rossif Sutherland (Possessor), Birkett Turton (iZombie), Eden Weiss (The Power), and Cassandra Ebner (The Flash). Chris Ferguson and Jesse Savath produced the project.
A Rare Miss for a Horror Heavyweight
The mixed-to-negative reception for Keeper came as a surprise to genre fans, especially given Perkins’ recent track record. The director has built a reputation as a modern master of dread with atmospheric hits like The Blackcoat’s Daughter, Gretel & Hansel, and the massive indie breakout Longlegs.
While Keeper didn’t quite capture that same lightning-in-a-bottle with critics or audiences during its theatrical window, folk horror often finds its true calling in late-night streaming algorithms. You can judge the slow-burning mystery for yourself when it hits Hulu next month, on June 5, 2026.
