Sony’s Screen Gems is bringing another popular horror game to the screen for a new adaptation, Until Dawn. It joins the ranks of adaptations like “Fallout” and “Twisted Metal,” which have been renewed for their second seasons.

Initially released in 2015, Until Dawn follows a group of friends trapped at a secluded lodge on Blackwood Mountain. As a killer stalks them, players must make crucial choices determining the characters’ fates. The film aims to recreate the game’s interactive nature, allowing audiences to experience the tension and suspense of the original story.

The Until Dawn movie features a talented ensemble cast, including Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, Odessa A’zion, Maia Mitchell, and Belmont CameliPeter Stormare (Constantine) will reprise his role as Dr. Hill, the psychiatrist players can consult in the game.

David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) will be the director’s chair for the adaptation written by Blair Butler (The Invitation) and Gary Dauberman, whose film adaptation of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot was just released on MAX.

Fans of the game and the horror genre will have to wait a little before watching the film adaptation. It won’t hit theaters until April 25, 2025. Watch the game trailer below for an idea of the horrors to come.
