Prepare for a new breed of horror when Control Freak premieres exclusively on Hulu this March. This film boasts a chilling premise: “A motivational speaker is tormented by an unrelenting itch on the back of her head.” This simple affliction spirals into a terrifying journey as she battles a parasitic demon from her homeland.
Control Freak is directed and written by Shal Ngo, known for his previous work on The Park, The Box, and The Last Fisherman. Ngo’s connection to this story began in 2021 when he wrote and directed the short film Control for the second season of Hulu’s “Bite-Size Halloween.”
Kelly Marie Tran, who appeared in Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, stars in the film. Miles Robbins plays Robbie, Valerie’s on-screen husband. The film also stars Toan Le and Kieu Chinh in supporting roles.
The movie is part of WorthenBrooks’s slate of films for Hulu, which includes titles like Appendage, Mr. Crocket, and Carved.
Control Freak promises to be a unique and unsettling horror experience. It will explore themes of cultural heritage, personal demons, and the nature of parasitic entities. When it premieres on Hulu on March 13th, Control Freak will surely captivate and terrify audiences.
