Get ready to experience horror on an epic scale! Ryan Coogler’s highly anticipated and original horror film, Sinners, is set to unleash its terrifying vision upon IMAX screens, offering audiences an immersive cinematic experience. Warner Bros. is pulling out all the stops, showcasing Coogler’s genre-bending creation in the breathtaking clarity of IMAX 70mm.
Be the First to Watch It
For those eager to be among the first to witness Sinners, exclusive IMAX 70mm early access screenings are scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, two days before the film’s nationwide release on April 18. These special screenings will take place at select IMAX theaters in Los Angeles (Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk), New York (AMC Lincoln Square 13), and San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16) at 7:00 p.m. local time.
Sinners, shot with IMAX film cameras, promises a visceral and unsettling experience. The film has officially received an “R” rating from the MPA, signaling a dark and intense narrative filled with “Strong bloody violence, sexual content and language.”
A Fright-Filled Film
Ryan Coogler, the visionary director behind the groundbreaking Black Panther franchise, is venturing into new territory with Sinners. With his unique and genre-fluid approach, he explores the horror genre. He reportedly drew inspiration from classic horror films like From Dusk Till Dawn, The Faculty, and the works of John Carpenter, blending elements of suspense, terror, and unexpected twists.
Michael B. Jordan takes on the challenge of portraying dual roles as twin brothers in Sinners. The film centers on their attempt to escape their troubled pasts by returning to their hometown. However, their hopes for a fresh start are quickly shattered. They soon discover a far more sinister evil awaits them, eager to welcome them back into its fold.
A Killer Cast
A stellar cast joins Jordan. Oscar nominees Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), Jack O’Connell (Ferrari), Wunmi Mosaku (Passenger), and Jayme Lawson (The Woman King) also star. Omar Benson Miller (True Lies) and Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods) also lend their talents to the film.
Coogler has assembled a dream team of behind-the-camera talent, many of whom he collaborated with on the Black Panther franchise. This includes director of photography Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Oscar-winning production designer Hannah Beachler, editor Michael P. Shawver, Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, and Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter. This formidable team ensures a visually stunning and aurally immersive cinematic experience.
