Stormlight Pictures and Aradia Pictures have officially announced the world premiere of Where the Hell is Anna? The genre-bending independent film was filmed entirely in Tennessee. So, it’s fitting that the film will make its long-awaited debut at its hometown film festival on September 25.
Flower Crowns, Blood Rituals, and Lost Best Friends
The story follows Derick, a messy and heartbroken young woman. She refuses to move on when her estranged best friend, Anna, vanishes into a secretive, women-only woodland retreat. Derick, however, is determined to bring Anna home. Derick crashes the secluded pagan commune, only to find herself trapped in an increasingly bizarre environment.
Anna is honored to be chosen for a mysterious ceremony known as “Induction Day.” However, Derick uncovers disturbing horrors buried beneath the group’s floral aesthetics and sisterhood mantras. That includes sinister fertility experiments, blood rituals, and a chilling promise of a high-dimensional paradise called Summerland.

Fusing supernatural horror with razor-sharp dark comedy, Where the Hell is Anna? operates at the intersection of Midsommar, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and Booksmart.
The film navigates trying to rescue someone who might not actually want to be saved. It blends suspense with high-stakes comedic energy as Derick struggles to distinguish between genuine emotional healing and absolute brainwashing.

The project is written, directed, and stars Taylor Dupuis, an actor, filmmaker, and musician. Dupuis leads a talented cast featuring Matthew Crosby, Hope Karwoski, Nicholas Griffy, Allison Shrum, Lauren Whistle, and Kenzie Wynne.
