Xenomorph fans, get ready to have your chest-bursting anticipation levels cranked up to eleven! Just ahead of Alien Day this Saturday, April 26th, 2025, and hot on the heels of Earth Day, FX on Hulu has dropped not one, but two new teaser trailers for the upcoming “Alien: Earth” series from the mind of Noah Hawley. And let me tell you, these little glimpses are dripping with that signature “Alien” dread.
From the Mind of Noah Hawley
For those needing a quick hypersleep wake-up call, “Alien: Earth“ is the prequel series to Ridley Scott’s 1979 masterpiece, Alien. Hawley, the creative force behind the critically acclaimed FX shows “Fargo” and “Legion,” is writing and directing the terrifying saga.
Two New Teasers
IGN debuted the first teaser trailer. It’s a visceral and unsettling glimpse into the horrifying life cycle of these iconic creatures. It reminds us just how insidious and terrifying they have been since their inception. The visual will surely send shivers down your spine and reignite that primal fear the original film so expertly instilled.
The second teaser trailer takes a slightly different approach, cleverly tying into Earth Day. It opens with a seemingly hopeful voiceover, proclaiming, “Together, we can discover the wonder of our planet before it’s too late.” It’s a poignant message about our fragile ecosystem… right before the rug is violently pulled out from under us. A deadly xenomorph suddenly appears in a classic Alien jump scare that’s bound to make you spill your coffee. It shatters the moment of serenity and reminds us that far more dangerous things are out there.
The official synopsis for the series gives us a bit more context: “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (played by the talented Sydney Chandler) and a group of soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s highly anticipated TV series “Alien: Earth” from creator Noah Hawley.” This creates a fresh twist in a classic “Alien” scenario – the xenomorphs are coming to our turf. What kind of chaos and carnage will ensue when these ultimate predators are unleashed on our unsuspecting planet?
A Talented Cast
The cast joining Sydney Chandler is also incredibly promising, featuring a wealth of talent including Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, and Adrian Edmondson. Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El round out the cast.
Noah Hawley is no stranger to crafting compelling and visually striking television. In addition to “Fargo” and “Legion,” he has writing credits on “Bones.” His unique storytelling style and visual flair will surely bring a fresh and terrifying perspective to the Alien universe.
Coming This Summer
While an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, “Alien: Earth” is slated to premiere on Hulu sometime this summer. With these tantalizing teaser trailers dropping just ahead of Alien Day, it feels like the countdown to this terrifying prequel has officially begun.
