Fresh off his work on the high-profile “Carrie“ series for Prime Video, the director is actively developing a brand-new film adaptation of King’s 1980 novella, The Mist. In a recent conversation with Collider, Flanagan shared an exciting progress report on the project. He confirmed that script work is well underway and moving quickly. So, he revealed he was writing the screenplay on his flight to the interview. He plans to turn in the completed script around Halloween.
“I’m writing it right now,” Flanagan tells the outlet. “I was working on it on the airplane here.”
