Listen up, horror fans. The psychological horror thriller Wind and Bone is hitting Digital and on demand today! Get ready for a chilling tale of survival against an ancient evil!

What’s It All About?

The film follows Sierra, played by Julie Kashmanian (Was Once a Hero, Hemisphere, Ghost Planet), a woman on the run who tags along with a group of college students on a weekend getaway. But as you might guess, things go horribly wrong when they run smack-dab into a terrifying force of nature: a Wendigo.

This isn’t just a creature feature, though. Wind and Bone promises a “psychological kill fest” that delves into distrust, isolation, and what happens when your inner demons come out to play. It’s a cryptid film that pushes you to look inward when dealing with unresolved trauma.

Behind the Screams

Wind and Bone was filmed and produced right in West Virginia and Maryland. And it snagged a nomination for Best Horror Feature at the Chicago Horror Film Festival earlier this month!

This movie marks the feature film debut for writer/director Michael Tuthill, who co-directed with his long-time filmmaking and acting buddy, Kevin Sylvain. Michael, based out of Frederick, MD, works alongside his wife and producer, Amy Tuthill. If their previous work is anything to go by, this one’s going to be good! Their short film The Inside won Best Short Film at the International Horror Film Festival in Chicago, and Was Once a Hero took home Best Feature at the Wild Bunch Film Festival in Tucson, AZ, and is currently the #1 Western release on Amazon. Both of those are streaming now if you want to check them out!

Legend and Lore

Alright, let’s talk about the Wendigo. The legend comes from the Athabaskan people. This isn’t just any monster – it’s often described as a seriously messed-up, malevolent spirit, sometimes even taking on human-like features and possessing people.  It’s said to inflict its victims with an insatiable hunger for human flesh. And if that’s not creepy enough, some stories paint the Wendigo as a giant humanoid with a heart of pure ice, its arrival heralded by a disgusting stench or a sudden, unnatural chill. Not something you want to run into on a dark night!

Out Now

Presented by Lucid Images, Future Phantoscope, and Gravitas Ventures, Wind and Bone is now available on Digital and Demand, including Prime Video.
