Following reports of the surprise teaser attached to theatrical screenings of Resident Evil, A24 has officially unveiled the first promo for Jeremy Saulnier’s Slayground.
Built around eerie, grain-heavy security camera footage. Set to a terrifying backdrop of screaming voices and Drowning Pool’s “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor,” the preview captures glimpses inside a dimly lit haunted house. The teaser concludes with an ominous invitation to the viral website RunLikeHell.com. The site features multiple CCTV monitor feeds. There’s also an email signup form that triggers a cryptic countdown timer.
A High-Stakes Game of Cat and Mouse
Written and directed by Saulnier, the pulse-pounding narrative transforms a seasonal, immersive haunted house attraction into a claustrophobic pressure cooker. Named after the fictional haunt where the story unfolds, Slayground centers on a fugitive played by Cory Michael Smith. He finds himself named the primary suspect in a high-profile mass murder investigation. After pulling off a desperate escape from the law’s custody, he flees into the night while a massive multi-agency search closes in around him. Scrambling to evade authorities and clear his name, he takes cover inside the labyrinthine haunted maze. However, it quickly turns the attraction into a deadly battleground.
Heavyweight Ensemble Cast Anchors Saulnier’s Latest
To bring the relentless thriller to life, Saulnier has assembled a stacked ensemble cast that reunites him with past collaborators. Alongside Smith (Saturday Night), the film stars Imogen Poots (Green Room) and James Badge Dale (The Empty Man). Matty Matheson (The Bear) and Chase Sui Wonders (I Know What You Did Last Summer) join the fray. Rounding out the high-caliber lineup are Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me), Young Mazino (The Last of Us), and Stephen Root (Widow’s Bay).
