Director Ron Krauss has officially announced that his latest feature, Wounds, will premiere at Screamfest LA on October 8th.

The psychological horror-thriller stars Jack Kilmer (The Nice Guys, Palo Alto) and Paris Jackson (American Horror Stories). They are joined by Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), Lambert Houston (Resurrection Factor), and Renata Notni (Zorro). Richie Radichi (My Best Friend’s Dead) and Rufus Dorsey (Ali) round out the cast.

An Obsessive Homage to Indie Horror

Shot entirely on 35mm film, Wounds serves as an atmospheric love letter to classic indie horror. The story dives deep into obsession, morality, and the dangerous dark side of artistic ambition. It explores how far creative passion can twist when desire outpaces restraint.

A Descent Into Gruesome Realism

The plot follows Caleb Castle (Kilmer), a horror-obsessed special effects makeup artist struggling to build a name for himself. However, he works at a failing studio on the brink of closure. Assigned to a low-budget vampire film, Caleb hits a turning point when he meets Ginny Brown (Jackson). She’s a talented fellow makeup artist. However, Caleb things get complicated when he witnesses a brutal murder.  The event sparks an eerie, extreme fixation to use horrific real-world trauma to make his special effects look sickeningly authentic.

Behind the Production

Ryan Leeder, Joshua Courtade, and Ron Krauss wrote the film’s screenplay. Krauss also produced the project alongside Ira Houston, with Marvin Cheng serving as co-producer. Executive producers include Chung Dick, Thomas Carroll, Sam Shen, and Jason Sun.
