The award-winning indie holiday slasher New Fears Eve is officially available on Blu-ray and digital platforms. Naturally, the movie attracted a few inevitable online haters. Let’s be honest, trolls are gonna troll. Instead of getting upset, the creative team cleverly flipped the negativity into a positive promotional campaign. Consequently, they celebrated the physical media release by compiling the harsh feedback into a hilariously self-aware trailer.

Legendary Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick joined directing duo P.J. Starks and Eric Huskisson (13 Slays Till X-Mas) to deliver this retro-inspired slasher, which promises maximum New Year carnage.

A Surgeon of Death Crashes the Office Party

The story follows three reluctant co-workers stuck hosting their company’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration. However, the festive gathering quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival. An unexpected guest suddenly crashes the party. He is an unhinged, masked serial killer known only as “The Doctor.” Armed with surgical precision, the killer systematically dismantles the entire guest list.

An Indie Ensemble Packed with Genre Icons

This indie horror effort boasts an impressive ensemble cast of beloved cult icons and fresh talent. For instance, screen favorite Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) stars alongside Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie) and Hannah Fierman (V/H/S). The survivor lineup also includes Lily Claire Harvey, Jay Woolston, Alyssa Rhoads, Roni Jonah, Turner Vaughn, and Jesse MacDonald.

Practical Gore Meets Dark Comedy

Directing duo Starks and Huskisson crafted the feature as a genuine love letter to 1980s slasher classics. The film skillfully balances workplace humor with over forty elaborate practical kills. Special effects artist Stephen J. Hodke (Taintbad Productions), alongside Isa Suzanne and Blaze Bolden, handled the in-camera gore to satisfy hardcore splatter fans. Ultimately, if you cannot wait for physical delivery, you can stream the movie immediately on Prime Video and Tubi, but we recommend getting a Blu-ray to add to your collection.

For what it’s worth, we loved the movie, calling it a “must-see” and that it has a great combo of horror and hilarity.
