We’ve got great news for fans of the “Knifepoint Horrorpodcast! New information has emerged via Deadline that the movie Winthrop, based on the fan-favorite episode “The Lockbox,” is in development. The episode was written, created, and narrated by Soren Narnia.

Lou Taylor Pucci (Touch Me, Evil Dead) stars in Winthrop, opposite Carla Gugino, known for her chilling performance in Gerald’s Game.

So, Gugino will star as a woman who puts her life on the line to protect her troubled cousin, Winthrop (Pucci). He is targeted and hunted by a powerful supernatural force. This sounds like a deeply unsettling blend of family drama and supernatural terror!

The Team Behind the Scenes

Daniel Stamm, the filmmaker behind horror hits like The Last Exorcism and Prey for the Devil, is directing. The script comes from Emmy-winning playwright Justin Yoffe. Production is slated to begin this summer in Canada. We can expect more updates soon.

Producer Kearie Peak shared her excitement for the project: “Winthrop captures the eerie dread that makes ‘Knifepoint Horror’ such a success. Carla Gugino is a perfect fit for the film, bringing a rare intensity and subtlety that aligns perfectly with the silent horror of Winthrop. Beneath the supernatural tension, the film explores how generational trauma festers and twists over time. It’s horror with weight, and it stays with you.”
