Survival show fanatics, prepare yourselves! Bunim/Murray Productions is developing an intense new competition series titled “Predator vs. Prey.” And it’s set to be hosted by none other than “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson!

Predator vs. Prey” will pit 15 familiar faces from popular survival series. That includes “Alone,” “Outlast,” “Naked & Afraid,” and “Survivor,” against each other in a high-stakes, 21-day game of hide-and-seek, Variety reports. Set on a sprawling 25-square-mile rugged wilderness course, the group will be split into two factions: Predators and Prey.

The Predators have a serious incentive: they can bank up to $500,000 for successfully capturing Prey. Meanwhile, the Prey earn cash prizes for simply staying in the game, evading capture. Each episode will introduce a different challenge, designed to shake things up and force the Prey out of hiding, guaranteeing constant tension and thrilling chases.

A Passion Project for Alan Ritchson

This exciting project was co-developed by Gayani Wanigaratne, Bunim/Murray’s senior vice president of development, alongside Alan Ritchson. But Ritchson isn’t just hosting. He’s stepping in as both game master and executive producer, bringing his authentic passion for the survival space to the forefront.

Wanigaratne expressed her excitement, stating, “This series will be the ultimate test of grit and strength, pitting top survival stars against each other in a relentless game of chase and survival through a challenging wilderness environment. Partnering with Alan to co-develop this format, fueled by his passion for the survival space, brings an authentic edge and fresh creative perspective. His first question to us was, when does he get to parachute into the wilderness to greet the players!”

Ritchson echoed her enthusiasm: “Seeing the world’s best survivalists pitted against each other in a high-octane game of hide-and-seek, all while surviving days or weeks in the most frighteningly unpredictable scenarios Mother Nature has to offer … TV doesn’t get more exciting than this. I can’t wait to be in the wild with these contestants.”

Beyond “Reacher,” Ritchson’s credits include “Smallville,” Fast X, and the series “Blooddrive. Bunim/Murray, a division of Banijay Americas, is renowned for its unscripted formats, including iconic shows such as “The Real World” and “The Challenge.”
