This Summer, 2025, marks an exciting shift for Dan Asma, a co-founder of the legendary marketing agency Buddha Jones. After two decades of crafting chilling campaigns for major horror films (including It and 28 Years Later), Asma is stepping behind the camera. He will be making his directorial debut in the horror film genre with Tribe. And horror fans in Europe, get ready: Tribe will have its Premiere at GRIMMFEST in Manchester, UK, this October!

A Found-Footage Nightmare Unfolds

Tribe promises a found-footage horror experience that will push audiences to the edge. The film follows a retired university professor who embarks on a quest for a medieval church hidden deep in the mountains of the American West Coast. His journey isn’t just about discovery; he’s trying to piece together the mysterious death of an old friend.

But this quest quickly descends into madness. The professor uncovers ancient creatures still roaming the woods and finds himself entangled in a web of time loss, amnesia, chilling conspiracies, and cosmic horrors that will twist his perception of reality.

Ahead of its festival debut, we’ve the first look to share with you. From the images, it appears that the fright-filled film will be something fresh and frightening.

Grimmfest’s Terrifying Endorsement

The folks at GRimmfest are clearly thrilled to host the premiere, stating on their website: “We are excited to announce that we will be hosting the European Premiere of TRIBE. Packed with high-concept ideas and wild leaps of imagination, with nods to Philip K. Dick and the cosmic horrors of H.P. Lovecraft, TRIBE is gripping, engrossing and creepy as hell! We can’t wait to unleash Dan Asma’s terrifying, mind blowing found footage nightmare on the GRIMMFEST crowd.”
