The long-rumored “Hostel” TV series has officially found a home: Peacock! Variety reports that the TV extension of the infamous horror film franchise is now in development at the NBCUniversal streamer.
Eli Roth, the mastermind behind the Hostel films, will be hands-on. He’s set to write, direct, and executive produce.
Chris Briggs and Mike Fleiss, who produced all the Hostel movies, are also executive producers. Fifth Season is the studio bringing this terrifying vision to life.
A Major Star
The first cast member to be announced is none other than Paul Giamatti! Giamatti has received two Oscar nominations (for Cinderella Man and The Holdovers) and six Golden Globe nominations, winning three. He has had roles in films such as Planet of the Apes and Saving Private Ryan, as well as series like “Billions” and “30 Coins.” Needless to say, the actor is a significant talent.
A Return to Elite Hunting Club Territory
For those unfamiliar (or who just need a refresher), the Hostel franchise revolves around innocent tourists being kidnapped by a mysterious group known as the Elite Hunting Club. This sinister organization operates out of Eastern Europe, with facilities located worldwide. Its super-rich clientele pays big bucks to torture and murder tourists.
The first Hostel film hit theaters in 2006, with Roth writing, directing, and producing. He also wrote, directed, and produced Hostel: Part II in 2007. A third film was released direct to video in 2011, though Roth wasn’t involved in that one.

Pacock has become a popular home for great series, including “Twisted Metal,” which has returned for its second season.
