Vertigo Releasing is bringing the critically acclaimed faux true-crime docu-horror film, Strange Harvest, and the menacing horror fable, written and directed by Stuart Ortiz (Grave Encounters), to digital platforms this month!

The film starts with what seems like a routine welfare check in the quiet San Bernardino suburbs. Detective Kirby and Lexi Taylor uncover a truly gruesome scene. They discover a family of three has been bound, bled, and posed. And a bizarre symbol drawn in blood on the ceiling.

The detectives immediately recognize the symbol as the calling card of “Mr. Shiny,” a killer who vanished 15 years ago. He has now seemingly returned to restart his brutal murder spree. However, it’s not long before “Mr. Shiny” is leaving horrifying new crime scenes in his wake. That includes one victim trapped in a swimming pool full of live leeches, and another ritualistically flayed and displayed in a public park.

It soon becomes terrifyingly clear that this case is anything but routine. The murders and their perpetrator appear to be tied to a sinister, cosmic phenomenon and evil forces from beyond.

Strange Harvest has already garnered impressive praise, currently sitting at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics are absolutely loving this deeply unsettling blend of realism and horror fantasy, calling it “brutal, “unnerving,” and “creepy.”

Starring Peter Zizzo, Terri Apple, and Andy Lauer, Strange Harvest is poised to be the most disturbing watch this Halloween season. It’s now available in the US on services including Prime Video, and will be released on digital in the UK on October 27th and in Australia on October 29th.
