Director and producer Sam Raimi, Master of Horror, is delivering a new tale of terror: Send Help! He returns to his horror roots for this chilling new project. Raimi is famous for The Evil Dead and his Spider-Man trilogy. Films like Drag Me to Hell and Don’t Move prove his horror mastery. He creates terrifying, suspenseful atmospheres.
Rachel McAdams, known for her roles in films like The Notebook and Mean Girls, leads the cast of Send Help!. Dylan O’Brien and Dennis Haybert join her.
In the film, two colleagues become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.
Damian Shannon and Mark Swift wrote the screenplay. They worked previously on Freddy vs. Jason. Raimi and Zainab Azizi will produce under Raimi Productions.
The trailer shows the fiery plane crash. Linda later finds Bradley’s body washed ashore. Bradley remains unconscious for 36 hours. Linda quickly acts. She builds a shelter, hunts, fishes, and starts a fire. In the trailer, we also get a glimpse of McAdams’ character as a total badass who has been overlooked and underappreciated, but that’s all about to change.
Raimi told EW the film is not just about survival. It also tells a story of female empowerment and change. “I really love that this story is an underdog tale at its core.”
