Get ready for more animatronic mayhem! Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is nearly here, and it has a new killer trailer that teases the horror that awaits us upon its December release.
The original film is based on the blockbuster video game series. And it shattered expectations, opening to $80 million in October 2023 and eventually grossing nearly $300 million worldwide. Now, the animatronic terror escalates in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
The sequel picks up one year after the supernatural chaos that engulfed Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The events of the first film have warped into a campy local legend. It has inspired the town to host its very first Fazfest.
However, beneath the surface of this manufactured celebration, secrets fester. Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have worked to shield Mike’s sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), from the horrifying truth of her robotic “friends.” However, this fragile peace is shattered when Abby sneaks out, attempting to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. This reunion sets off a terrifying chain of events. The secrets about Freddy’s true origins will surface, unleashing a long-forgotten horror that has lain dormant for decades.
The game series creator, Scott Cawthon, returned to pen the script, with director Emma Tammi back at the helm. The sequel sees fan favorites return, including Theodus Crane as Jeremiah and Matthew Lillard as the villain. New cast members include Freddy Carter (Shadow and Bone), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park, Seinfeld), McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters franchise, Annabelle Comes Home), and horror icon Skeet Ulrich (Scream, Riverdale).
The creative forces behind the first film are returning to ensure the sequel maintains its edge. Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum produces alongside Scott Cawthon. Serving as executive producers are director Emma Tammi, Beatriz Sequeira, Christopher Warner, Russell Binder, and Marc Mostman.
With the return of the original creative team and an expanded, electrifying cast, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is poised to deliver another massive, fright-filled entry into the horror canon when it hits theaters on December 5, 2025. Get your tickets now!
