Untouchables Entertainment has unleashed the first teaser trailer for Glenn Douglas Packard’s new “versus” horror film, The Dark Domain: Mickey-vs-Winnie. The trailer offers a look at Dark Winnie, based on A.A. Milne’s original Winnie-the-Pooh character, with Giovanni Gotay stepping into the monstrous role.
Fayna Sanchez (Abraham’s Boys, House of Ashes) joins the cast as Clare, fighting to protect her friends from both a terrifying present danger and the horrors of their past.
This new project is a landmark in the emerging public-domain horror sub-genre, marking the first-ever crossover film pitting two beloved childhood icons against each other in a monstrous battle for survival.
In this twisted fairytale, the nostalgic figures of Steamboat Willie’s Mickey and A.A. Milne’s original Winnie-the-Pooh are reimagined as the bloodthirsty killing machines: Dark Mickey (Daniel Wilkinson, Pitchfork) and Dark Winnie (Gotay). Set in the Hell Forest, the film is expected to premiere in 2026.
Emmy-nominated choreographer-turned-filmmaker Glenn Douglas Packard (Pitchfork) is thrilled to launch his new cinematic universe, The Dark Domain. Packard detailed the intense atmosphere on set:
“As a director, I was committed to creating the most authentic and intense atmosphere possible. We even brought in a body-piercing suspension artist. It was an intense experience for the cast, a few even vomited. When it was all said and done, we knew we’d done more than just pay homage to public domain horror, we elevated it. We gave horror fans exactly what they’ve been craving from this sub-genre. The gore is real, the terror is relentless, and the nostalgia is twisted beyond recognition.”
Packard and co-writer Phillips described their horrifying inspirations: Dark Winnie is envisioned as “Jason Voorhees levels up into the Predator.” At the same time, Dark Mickey reportedly embodies a mix of “Pennywise meets Freddy Krueger.
The tale begins a century after two convicts vanished in the malevolent Hell Forest. In the present, a group of childhood friends—each haunted by unresolved traumas—feels an inexplicable pull back to the abandoned reform school at the forest’s heart. As they return to the decaying camp, the forest manifests their worst fears and anxieties in grotesque, physical form: Dark Mickey and Dark Winnie. The resulting violent showdown forces the group to confront not only the monstrous entities but the darkness within themselves.
