Get ready for another round of deadly games—the most bloodthirsty bridal saga in modern horror is back! The highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 black comedy horror hit is officially titled Ready or Not: Here I Come. The newly released trailer confirms that star Samara Weaving is back for a whole new level of terror, but this time, Grace is not alone. This time around, Kathryn NewtonAbigail), who plays Grace’s sister, has been pulled into a new deadly game of hide or seek.

The Legacy: Surviving the Le Domas Family Curse

The original Ready or Not captivated audiences with its sharp satire and uncompromising gore and action. Weaving played Grace, a young bride who marries into the eccentric, wealthy Le Domas family. As the story progressed, Grace discovered her new in-laws had sealed a pact with the Devil—Mr. “Le Bail”—which necessitated a deadly wedding night tradition.

Grace ultimately outsmarted her pursuers, surviving until sunrise—a condition that resulted in the explosively gory collection of the Le Domas family’s souls. The film brilliantly mixed home-invasion horror, dark comedy, and high-stakes mythology, leaving immense potential for the sequel to expand the lore.

A New Game and A Massive Ensemble

The teaser for Ready or Not: Here I Come promises that Grace’s survival was only the beginning of her troubles. The most unsettling visual reveals that Grace and Faith are literally chained at the wrist. This suggests they will be forced to play another twisted, brutal game.

The cast surrounding them is equally staggering, promising an ensemble full of potential hunters and allies alike:

The sequel features a large cast of genre veterans. It features Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, and Elijah Wood. Legendary filmmaker David Cronenberg also appears.

The Filmmakers’ Vow: Deeper Lore, Not Just More Gore

Radio Silence, the directing team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, returns to direct from a screenplay by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. The filmmakers expressed their excitement over bringing Grace back:

“We never dreamed Ready or Not would connect with people the way it has over the past few years and feel so honored to get to step back into Grace’s world,” Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin stated. “The original movie really changed our lives in countless ways, and to see Samara back in that character and back in that dress felt really special to us.”

They were clear that the sequel avoids simply repeating the first film’s premise: “It’s exciting to see Grace into a new f—ed-up situation that deepens her story and her character, and we wanted to make sure that this movie wasn’t just more of the same… We put a ton of love into this movie to make it a worthy sequel.”

Produced by Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer, and William Sherak, Ready or Not: Here I Come is the highly anticipated horror event of the spring. Be ready for the bloodbath when Grace and Faith fight for survival starting April 10, 2026!
