Get those ruby slippers ready, horror hounds! Fathom Events just dropped the biggest news for fans of classic stories turned nightmare fuel: their new take on the iconic Oz tale, Gale: Yellow Brick Road, is officially hitting theaters for a super-exclusive, one-night-only event!
Mark your calendars, because you can step into this twisted vision of Oz come February. Seriously, that’s the only time it’s playing, so you’d better snag those tickets now!
Exclusive Featurette and a Striking New Poster
Fathom is giving ticket holders an extra treat. Before the main feature, you’ll get to see a five-minute making-of featurette. This bonus footage promises a look at the insane makeup transformations and the creativity that went into building this terrifying new version of Oz.
To hype things up even more, they’ve dropped a striking new poster designed by the legendary horror poster artist Creepy Duck Design. The image nails the eerie tone. We see a broken yellow road disappear into a shadowy forest. At first, it looks like a dark yet beautiful image of a woman standing alone; however, when you look closer, the horrors begin to reveal themselves. She is surrounded by bodies hanging in the trees.
Dorothy’s Granddaughter Gets a Nightmare
This isn’t your grandma’s trip to the Emerald City. Directed by Daniel Alexander in his feature debut, Gale: Yellow Brick Road follows Emily Gale, the granddaughter of the original Dorothy.
Emily is totally tormented—she’s having broken dreams, dark visions, and generally feels like her reality is falling apart. As her mind unravels, she’s pulled into a horrifying shadow realm where she finds a ruined version of Oz filled only with tragedy and unspeakable horrors.
The cast, including Chloë Crump (as Emily), Laura Kay Bailey, and Hassan Taj, is bringing a fresh, dark energy to the twisted characters populating this nightmare landscape.
Why This Is The Oz Horror Film
Dane Petrali, founder of Chilling Films and executive producer, made it clear that this isn’t just a cash-in.
“One hundred twenty five years ago L. Frank Baum gave the world Dorothy Gale and the magical land of Oz,” Petrali says. “We respect the original story but we also want to show a darker vision. We twist familiar faces, reimagine nostalgic elements and add new characters that audiences will love. The film is dark, thrilling and heartfelt.”
This combination of familiar names and fresh terror makes it a must-see. Tickets will soon be on sale. So click your heels, find a friend with courage, and watch Gale in theaters on February 11, 2026.
