Get ready to feel that spine-tingling chill! We’re heading deep into the woods to meet an ancient evil, because the first teaser trailer for the new horror flick, Hokum, just dropped!

Remember the mind-bending horror of Oddity? Well, writer-director Damian McCarthy is back to give us a brand new nightmare, and this one involves a seriously old-school witch!

 An Ancient Entity Checks In

Adam Scott (yes, the excellent Adam Scott from Severance!) stars as Ohm Bauman, a reclusive novelist. Ohm retreats to a remote, and clearly creepy, Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes. Once there, the staff starts filling his head with tales of an ancient witch that supposedly haunts the honeymoon suite. (Seriously, who takes the honeymoon suite after hearing that?!)

Naturally, things go sideways fast! Disturbing visions begin to manifest. And a shocking disappearance forces Ohm into a nightmarish confrontation with the darkest corners of his own past. Talk about a bad writing retreat!

A Terrifying Irish Cast

Joining Adam Scott are some fantastic actors to round out the spooky inn experience. Peter Coonan (The Alienist: Angel of Darkness), David Wilmot (Station Eleven), Florence Ordesh (Departure), Will O’Connell (“Game of Thrones”), and Michael Patric (Frontier) round out the cast of this frightening flick.

With producers like Roy Lee (Weapons) and Steven Schneider (Insidious) involved, you know the scares are going to be top-tier and seriously unsettling!

A Fright-Filled Spring

Hokum is checking into theaters on May 1, 2026, courtesy of Neon, and the plot sounds like a recipe for a totally terrifying tale!
