Move over, Disney—there’s a new king of the castle coming, and he’s got much sharper teeth. Plans were recently unveiled for Dracula Land, the world’s first and largest theme park dedicated to the legendary vampire, to be built just outside Bucharest, Romania.

With a staggering €1 billion price tag, this isn’t just a small-town haunted house. It’s a massive, 780,000-square-meter immersive universe featuring 40 different attractions designed to blend dark folklore with world-class thrills.

Exploring the Six Realms of Terror

The park is divided into distinct “lands,” each offering a different slice of the supernatural:

  • Transylvania: The heart of the park, featuring high-speed rollercoasters set against a backdrop of traditional villages and eerie forests.

  • Dracula’s Castle: The “main event.” Visitors can explore the vampire’s home, navigate a spooky maze, and ride the “Bat Coaster” over a dark lake.

  • The Family Kingdom: A more all-ages area that showcases supernatural creatures and vampire lore from cultures all around the globe.

  • London Town: This zone whisks you back to the foggy, Victorian London of Bram Stoker’s novel. Expect a vampire-hunting parkour course, a “Globe Theatre” ship-swing, and classic horse-and-carriage rides.

  • Port of New Orleans: It will feature a rollercoaster race with howling werewolves and Mardi Gras carnival games.

High-Tech Horror & The “DraculaVerse”

In a move that’s very 21st century, the park is launching its own metaverse. Visitors will be able to use DraculaCoin tokens as currency across both the physical park and the digital world, blurring the line between reality and legend.

Why Romania? The History of the Count

While the vampire legend is ancient, the Dracula we know today was born in 1897 from the mind of Irish author Bram Stoker. Though Stoker never actually visited Romania, he spent years researching European folklore and the history of the Carpathian Mountains to create his masterpiece.

Today, Romania embraces this connection, and Dracula Land is ideally located just 15 minutes from Bucharest International Airport to welcome fans from around the world.

More Than Just a Theme Park

Dracula Land is actually the center of a massive “mega-resort” development that includes:

  • Three Themed Hotels: 1,200 rooms for those brave enough to sleep there.

  • An Aqua Park & Thermal Spa: For when you need to wash off the “undead” vibes.

  • A 22,500-seat Arena: Perfect for massive concerts and festivals.

  • A Racing Track: For those who prefer horsepower to bat-power.

When Can You Visit?

The project is expected to be a massive win for the local economy, creating over 5,000 jobs. If everything stays on track, the gates to Dracula Land could creak open as early as 2027. Visit the official website now to explore the upcoming mega park.

Pricing is still under wraps, but one thing is for sure: you’ll definitely want to bring some garlic… just in case.
