If you’re a fan of those “don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-the-clue” psychological thrillers, mark your calendars. Epic Pictures Group is officially bringing The Huntsman to audiences next month, and it looks like a total mind-bender.

A Coma, a Killer, and a Nurse in Too Deep

Based on the award-winning novel by Judith Sanders, The Huntsman asks a terrifying question: What happens when an act of kindness puts you in the crosshairs of a serial killer?

The story follows an ICU nurse who decides to go above and beyond by volunteering to help a coma patient. The problem? This patient is suspected of murdering six women. As the nurse digs deeper, she gets tangled in a nasty web of obsession and secrets. Meanwhile, a detective is racing against the clock to stop the killer before more blood is spilled. It’s a classic setup that promises some very modern, very dangerous twists.

The Team Behind the Tension

Director Kyle Kauwika Harris co-wrote the script with Steven Jon Whritner, and they’ve assembled a killer cast of genre veterans to bring the mystery to life. The cast includes Shawn Ashmore (X-Men), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), Jessy Schram (Mad Men), and Garret Dillahunt (Fear the Walking Dead).

Why It’s Not Your Average Slasher

Director Harris says he wanted to focus on the “gray areas of morality” rather than just relying on cheap scares. “The true horror often lies not in what we see, but in what we don’t,” Harris explains. He built the film to be a psychological rollercoaster that forces the audience to question every character’s motives—and their own sanity.

Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald is equally hyped, calling it an “elevated thriller” that stays smart and atmospheric while keeping the pressure high until the final credits roll.

Are you ready for a mystery that keeps you guessing? Then be on the lookout, The Huntsman hits theaters on February 6, followed by its Digital and VOD release on the 10th.
