Ready or not, Grace is coming back a week earlier than planned! Searchlight Pictures just moved up the release date for Ready or Not: Here I Come! It turns out they’re so confident in this bloodbath that they’re dropping it right on the heels of its world premiere at SXSW.

Next Level, Literally

The original 2019 hit ended with Grace (Samara Weaving) covered in the literal remains of her in-laws after the Le Domas family curse went boom. If you thought she’d get a spa day and a settlement check, think again.

The sequel kicks off moments after the first film ends. Grace discovers she hasn’t just survived a weird family ritual—she’s actually triggered the “next level” of a global game. This time, she’s not alone; she’s fighting alongside her estranged sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton).

The goal is to survive the night (again) and claim the “High Seat of the Council” that secretly runs the world. Here’s the thing: it’s not just one family anymore. Four rival families are hunting Grace, all vying for the throne.

Grace and Faith are seen chained together in the trailer, meaning this game of Hide and Seek is now a buddy-system nightmare.

A Cast That Means Business

Radio Silence, directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, pulled out the big guns for this ensemble. We aren’t just getting more gore; we’re getting a legendary lineup of genre royalty. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood join the game along with Kevin Durand, Shawn Hatosy, and Néstor Carbonell. And get this, there’s a rare acting appearance by legendary body-horror director David Cronenberg.

Why This Sequel Hits Different

The filmmakers have been vocal about not wanting to just hit “copy-paste” on the first movie. While the original was a contained home-invasion dark comedy, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is expanding the mythology into a global power struggle. Think John Wick stakes, but with more exploding limbs and wedding-dress lace.

“We wanted to make sure this movie wasn’t just more of the same… it’s a new f—ed-up situation that deepens Grace’s story.” — Radio Silence

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come will now be released on March 20, 2026. Just a heads up, it is rated R (for “Strong bloody violence, gore, and pervasive language.”)
