Forget your Valentine’s Day plans—nothing says “romance” like a brain-controlling, body-bursting parasitic fungus! The sci-fi horror-comedy Cold Storage is headed your way. And it looks like a total blast. If you’ve ever wondered what happens when “The Last of Us” meets a workplace comedy, this is your answer.

The Worst Shift Ever

Imagine working the night shift at a self-storage facility built on an old military base. Boring, right? Wrong. Joe Keery (Stranger Things) and Georgina Campbell (Barbarian) play Teacake and Naomi, two employees who discover that their facility is concealing a government secret in the basement: a prehistoric, rapidly mutating fungus.

However, as the facility’s temperature rises, the fungus wakes up—and it’s hungry. And it turns people into mind-controlled monsters. It’s up to our duo and a grizzled retired bioterror operative (Liam Neeson) to stop a global extinction event before they get turned into mushroom food.

The Dream Team

This isn’t just an indie film; the talent behind it is notable. The movie was written by the brilliant David Koepp, who gave us Jurassic Park. He adapted the script from his 2019 bestseller. Koepp’s not the only massive name involved; it was directed by Jonny Campbell, known for his work on “Westworld.”

Besides the lead trio, we’ve got Sosie Bacon (Smile), Vanessa Redgrave, and Lesley Manville. That is a serious amount of acting power for a movie about exploding fungus.

What to Expect

The trailer doesn’t hold back. It’s already earned a hard “R” rating for gore, violence, and some choice language. Expect a high-octane mix of sci-fi chills and dark comedy that’ll make you think twice about going into your basement.

Get ready for a wild ride and the end of the world. Cold Storage hits theaters on February 13, 2026. Get your tickets now.
