If you’re the kind of person who hears a twig snap in the woods and immediately thinks “Sasquatch,” then mark your calendars. Byron Allen’s Freestyle Digital Media ( Allen Media Group) just locked down the North American VOD rights for the upcoming survival-horror flick, Squatch.
A Cabin Trip Gone Very, Very Wrong
The story follows Nick Peters, a guy who has spent his whole life wondering about his estranged father. When his old man finally passes away, Nick unexpectedly inherits the family estate, including a remote cabin deep in the northern wilderness.
Initially, Nick wants no part of his father’s legacy. He’s ready to walk away forever. That is, until Cassie, the coworker he’s been crushing on, offers to tag along for the ride. However, what was meant to be a quick weekend of closure and maybe a little romance turns into a battle for survival.
As they trek into the woods, which haven’t seen a human footprint in decades, they realize they aren’t alone. America’s most famous legend is done hiding.
The Team Behind the Terror
Directed by Tom Chaney and co-written by Bill Conger, Squatch aims to bring the legend of Bigfoot back with a vengeance.
“Bigfoot is back in the cultural bloodstream, and we knew it was time to drag SQUATCH into the horror universe,” director Tom Chaney said. “We built a fearless team and made a savage film that doesn’t blink.”
The Cast
Jack Chaney stars as Nick Peters and Paige Weishuhn as Cassie. Cassandra Schomer and Jacob Southwick—who has the honor of suiting up as the “Squatch” itself- round out the cast.
The Business of Bigfoot
The deal for the film was brokered between Freestyle Digital Media, the filmmakers, and Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films.
Squatch will be unleashed on March 10, 2026. You’ll be able to watch it on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, and major cable/satellite VOD providers. For more information, head over to the movie’s official website.
