The 2026 Sundance Film Festival market is officially heating up. The first major acquisition of the season has set a high bar for the midnight circuit.

In a competitive move, Neon has secured the worldwide rights to Leviticus, a queer horror standout that electrified audiences during its world premiere in the festival’s Midnight section.

A Haunting Premise

The film, written and directed by Adrian Chiarella, is an exploration of identity and repressed longing. Leviticus follows two teenage boys. They are trapped in a psychological and physical nightmare as they attempt to outrun a malevolent entity. A creature that manifests as the person they desire most. This effectively forces the protagonists to flee from reflections of one another.

A Powerhouse Ensemble

The film features an impressive cast that blends rising stars with seasoned veterans. It includes Joe Bird (Talk To Me), Stacy Clausen (Crazy Fun Park), Mia Wasikowska (Crimson Peak), Ewen Leslie (The Nightingale), and Zahra Newman (Thirteen Lives).

Release Information

Neon will not only handle the domestic theatrical rollout but will also oversee international sales rights. Horror fans won’t have to wait long to see what the Sundance hype is about—Neon has fast-tracked the release to capitalize on the festival glow. Leviticus will haunt theaters nationwide on June 19, 2026.
