Buckle up, buttercups—it’s officially the beginning of the end. Prime Video just dropped the trailer for the fifth and final season of “The Boys,” and surprise, surprise: the world is still a flaming dumpster fire.
The Big Finale: What’s Going Down?
It’s Homelander’s world now, and we’re all just living in his ego-driven fever dream. According to the official logline, things have gone from “bad” to “holy crap”:
Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are currently rotting in Vought-branded prisons. Sounds lovely.
Annie (Starlight) is trying to lead a revolution against a literal army of Supes, while Kimiko has pulled a disappearing act.
Billy Butcher is back, sporting a Supe-powered tumor and a virus that could wipe every Supe off the face of the Earth—no big deal.
Trailer Highlights (and Easter Eggs)
Our favorite milk-drinking psychopath, Homelander, is chasing immortality using V-One (the original, extra-spicy Compound-V). In the trailer, Homelander visits his dear old dad, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), presumably for some father-son bonding/world-ending advice.
Keep your eyes peeled for Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair and London Thor, who are spotted having a chat with Annie.
“The Boys” trailer ends with Homelander sitting at the Resolute Desk with a grin that screams, “I’m definitely going to nuke something.” Needless to say, we’re in a world of trouble.
Mark Your Calendars (Or Don’t, He’s Watching)
The final ride kicks off with a two-episode premiere on April 8, with new episodes dropping weekly until the series finale on May 20.
But Wait, There’s More!
Don’t cry because it’s over; laugh because Vought is still finding ways to take your money. Prime Video has already greenlit a prequel series called “Vought Rising,” starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash (Stormfront). Because apparently, we haven’t seen enough 1950s-era Supe-supremacy yet.
