Hide your kids, hide your wife, and for the love of all that is holy, hide the silverware! The long-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit is finally here, and it’s trading the wedding chapel for a global war zone. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come officially crashes into theaters today, March 20th, and it turns out the Le Domas family was just the tip of a very bloody iceberg.
The “Le Domas” Aftermath
We all remember that legendary final shot of the original: Samara Weaving sitting on steps, covered in the remains of her in-laws, calmly smoking a cigarette like she just finished a mild Pilates session.
Well, bad news for Grace: surviving that night didn’t win her a peaceful retirement. Instead, she’s inadvertently triggered the “next level” of a massive, global conspiracy. She’s now a pawn in a game to win a seat on the “High Seat of the Council”—the shadowy elite families who actually run the world. Think John Wick world-building, but with significantly more lost limbs and pitch-black comedy.
Sister Act (With Shotguns)
This time, Grace isn’t flying solo. She’s been forced to team up with her estranged sister, Faith, played by scream queen, Kathryn Newton.
A sneak peek of the first eight minutes dropped recently, showing the duo literally chained together, performing some grisly “battlefield triage” while prepping for a game of Hide and Seek with international stakes. Forget one crazy family; now, four rival dynasties are hunting them, and they aren’t just looking for an apology—they want Grace’s head on a literal platter.
A Cast of Horror Royalty
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (the Radio Silence duo) clearly called in every favor they had. The cast list for Ready or Not 2 is basically a “Who’s Who” of genre legends: You’ve got Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood officially entering the game. And Kevin Durand, Shawn Hatosy, and Néstor Carbonell are along for the fight. And get this: body-horror legend David Cronenberg makes a rare, creepy acting appearance.
