If you thought the Miami Metro alum association was the only thing Dexter Morgan had to worry about, think again. Uma Thurman is officially returning for Season 2 of “Dexter: Resurrection,” bringing some serious “Kill Bill” energy back to the world of America’s favorite hobbyist butcher.
Thurman will reprise her role as Charley. She is the former Special Ops powerhouse who spent Season One acting as the muscle for Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage). When we last saw her, she was fleeing the concrete jungle of New York to care for her terminally ill mother. But apparently, you can’t keep a good operative down (or away from a Paramount+ Premium hit).
A Cast to Die For
The casting office for Resurrection clearly has a “Legends Only” policy this year. Thurman returns to a roster that is starting to look more like an Oscars after-party than a slasher series.
Of course, Michael C. Hall is back as Dexter Morgan, the man who has died and come back more times than a soap opera villain. Recently, Brian Cox was confirmed as Don Framt, a.k.a. “The New York Ripper.”
Why Uma is a Game-Changer
While the world knows her as the yellow-jumpsuited Bride or the milkshake-sipping Mia Wallace, Thurman’s move into the “Dexter” universe adds a layer of prestige grit. She’s the wild card who could give Dexter his biggest run for his money yet.
Season 1 Refresher:
In the debut season, Charley was the elite shield protecting Dinklage’s character. Her departure at the end of the season felt like a clean break. However, in a show centered on a “Killer of Killers,” no one stays retired for long.
Between Brian Cox’s legendary gravitas and Uma Thurman’s lethal precision, Dexter Morgan is going to need a much bigger roll of plastic wrap. We’ll keep you posted as more casting and news are revealed. While you wait, you can rewatch season one now on Paramount+. And be sure to watch our interview with the cast.
