Ex Machina director Alex Garland’s sci-fi film Annihilation hasn’t been out long and he’s already entered development on a new television series, titled “Devs”.
Deadline is reporting that FX has ordered the pilot for the eight-episode series which he wrote and will direct, along with serving as executive producer.
In “Devs”, “a young computer engineer, Lily, investigates the secretive development division of her employer, a cutting-edge tech company based in San Francisco, which she believes is behind the disappearance of her boyfriend.”

If they (FX) want to carry it on, I guess they could… it’s a self-contained story though,” Garland said. “There’s ways you could carry it on. Hopefully shooting in about six months. I’ve started talking about casting, locations, practical stuff like that.”

DNA TV and Scott Rudin Productions will also executive produce “Devs”.
