Stephen King continues to prove that his title as a Master of Horror is well earned. A long list of movies and series based on King’s tales have already been announced over the past few years, including remakes of IT and Pet Sematary. Today, we are adding another title to the list.
King’s 2013 novel Joyland is getting a series adaptation on Freeform, Deadline is reporting. The novel is a crime thriller and features everything from brutal murders to the supernatural and centers on a college student working the summer at an amusement park.
While no cast has been announced at this point, we do know that Chris Pena (Insecure) and Cyrus Nowrasteh (Hawaii 5-0) will write the pilot and produce with Bill Haber (Nightmares and Dreamscapes) executive producing.
