When she returns home to write a story for the prestigious Atlantic Magazine she finds herself with writer’s block that lifts when Boone (Brody) comes to town along with his children. Ignoring her mother’s protests she applies to be the governess of the Chapelwaite manor for the Boone family. There she not only writes a great gothic novel, but she also begins to unravel a mystery that has plagued her family and his for years.
