1…2…Freddy’s coming for you – in a brand new remake. That’s right, the man of our dreams is coming back in a new version of Nightmare on Elm Street from New Line Cinema. David Leslie Jones, the man behind Orphan and Wrath of the Titans, will be writing the script for New Line. Jones has also signed on to pen the next film in The Conjuring franchise. So far, Jones is the only person attached to the project. According to Bloody Disgusting, odds are we won’t see Robert Englund in the role. Even though the film already has a lot of potential with Jones on board, it just won’t feel right without Englund as Freddy. Let’s hope New Line decides to offer him the role. We all remember the last remake being a fiasco. Let’s hope that they don’t make the same mistakes with this one. We will keep you posted.

A foul creature approaches, it’s eyes shinning through the mist, in one of the three brand new teasers for American Horror Story’s season 6. Its long arms drag it along the train tracks like something out of a nightmare. In the second new teaser, titled “Hang Tight”, we see a bug crawling up a beam towards hanging chains, hooks. The third teaser features a woman walking up a staircase only to be pulled back by her braid by a shadow. We have already witnessed 6 teasers from the dark, twisted series from FX. Word is all but one are fake, meant to through off fans and keep us guessing. The problem is, no one knows which one it is. The season’s first poster (above) arrived last week revealing a woman with spiders crawling from her lids. I’m sure those with arachnophobia were left with nightmares. We also reported that TMZ released a series of photos from the set showing a

Juan Gonzalez’s new horror film, The Ghost Hunt, will begin filming this fall. The film, based on true events, follows five friends who go on a ghost hunting tour, then are followed home by one of the spirits they encounter. Today I had the opportunity to speak with Gonzalez about his upcoming project, The Ghost Hunt, and his first horror film The Awakened and about his life. I learned a lot about his writing process, his hopes for his film and his dedication as a father. I have to admit, it was a very pleasant conversation. Gonzalez was friendly, funny and eager to talk about his projects (That’s always a good sign). His enthusiasm about The Ghost Hunt and filmmaking were refreshing. Juan Gonzalez’s debut in the horror genre was with 2013’s The Awakened, which he produced and received story credit for. The film follows five friends who decide to wait out a hurricane in Miami and throw a party.

The CW has been working on a reboot of Friday the 13th in series form for a while now. We reported back in April that they had killed the series, titled Chrystal Lake Chronicles. Now, they’ve made it official. At yesterday’s Television Critics Association’s press tour CW president Mark Pedowitz explained their decision to ax the series, written by Aaron Guzikowski We had better pilots,” Pedowitz said. “The bottom line is we felt we had stronger things to go with, and we didn’t go forward with it. It was well-written, it was darker than we wanted it to be, and we didn’t believe it had sustainability…We didn’t believe that it was a sustainable script, a sustainable series.” It is a bit disappointing that after all this time the show won’t be airing. But the good news is there is still a new Friday the 13th film coming our way.

Jeremy Slater, the executive producer of Fox’s upcoming series, The Exorcist, and its director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) took a moment at the 2016 Television Critics Association press tour to clear up a few things about the series. The first thing you need to know is that the series is not a reboot of the brilliant 1973 film directed by William Friedkin. The series is set 40 years after the events in the film. The show will however give the occasional nod to the film, including to occasional use of Mike Oldfield’s “Tubular Bells”. If you watch the pilot, you’ll see that we have some…homages to some of the famous moments [from the film]. You’ll see there’s a scene where they reference the original exorcisms in Georgetown.” Slater told EW in July. “That’s our way of letting fans know that the story you love isn’t being written out of existence. [But] this is a new

A while back World War Z 2 lost its director, J.A. Bayona due to his commitment to another project. The film did find a new writer, Dennis Kelly. Since then there has been next to no updates on the film, until now. News comes that Brad Pitt is attempting to persuade David Fincher to have a seat in the director’s chair and join him on WWZ 2. Variety is reporting that the odds look good, as the talks are progressing. Fincher and Pitt have worked together on several great projects including Fight Club, the psychological thriller Seven, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. They seem to be a great team, making WWZ 2 a good fit to continue their actor/director relationship. The film is set to be released on June 9th, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that date is pushed back considering the huge amount of CGI and special effects that the film requires. The first film follows

The post had several interesting hashtags, including #sealthedeal #greatnewstocome and #dreamjob. The Crow is the only film Hardy is currently casting, according to Mashable.
