‘The Wretched’s’ Release Expands To 45 More Drive-Ins This Weekend

IFC Midnight announced today that their witchy horror film The Wretched‘s release is expanding by adding 45 more Drive-Ins to their list this weekend! We also have a treat, a behind the scene video to share with you that features the cast discussing their roles. The Wretched, which we called “a film that deserves to be seen.” in our review, is from Brett Pierce and Drew Pierce, the writing-directing team behind the zombie cult hit Deadheads. Starring John-Paul Howard (Hell or High Water) and Piper Curda (I Didn’t Do It), the film centers on a rebellious teenage boy, Ben, who is sent to live with his father for the summer and work at the local marina in order to gain some form of discipline. The idyllic tourist town offers little solace for him, however, as he is forced to deal with the local, privileged teens and his father’s new girlfriend. Ben’s problems grow increasingly disturbing when he makes a chilling

A Family Must Come Together To Survive In New ‘Relic’ Trailer

A new teaser trailer has arrived for writer-director Natalie Erika James‘ haunting horror film Relic ahead of its July release. When elderly mother Edna (Robyn Nevin) inexplicably vanishes, her daughter Kay (Emily Mortimer) and granddaughter Sam (Bella Heathcote) rush to their family’s decaying country home, finding clues of her increasing dementia scattered around the house in her absence. After Edna returns just as mysteriously as she disappeared, Kay’s concern that her mother seems unwilling or unable to say where she clashes with Sam’s unabashed enthusiasm to have her grandma back. As Edna’s behavior turns increasingly volatile, both begin to sense that an insidious presence in the house might be taking control of her. All three generations of women are brought together through trauma and a powerful sense of strength and loyalty to face the ultimate fear together. Co-written by James and Christian White, the film stars Emily Mortimer, Bella Heathcote, and Robyn Nevin, Relic is produced by Anna McLeish, Sarah

Movie Review: ‘The Fanatic’ Will Leave You Asking WTF Did I Just Watch?

The Fanatic…where do I start? John Travolta stars as “Moose”, an autistic man who collects autographs and movie memorabilia. Obsessed with actor Hunter Dubar (Devon Sawa), “Moose” will stop at nothing to get close to his favorite actor. Travolta, rocking a terrible mullet, mimics what I assume he thinks is the way an autistic man would talk and act. Within the first few minutes I felt gross just for watching it. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not the fact that Travolta impersonates an autistic person, it’s the way that he did it. It just feels off and it is extremely one dimensional. For example, Leonardo Di Caprio in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape was brilliant. That’s how that’s done. Written and directed by Fred Durst (yes, that Fred Durst, the one from Limp Bizkit) the movie left me wondering what Durst’s original vision was and if this is close. Maybe he did it all for the nooky. Sorry, that was

Movie Review: ‘Z’ Is The Horror Movie Fans Deserve

Let’s face it when a movie gets a lot of hype ahead of its release we usually find ourselves left disappointed. That is not the case with writer-director Brandon Christenson and co-writer Colin Minihan’s spooky AF film Z. I was not prepared for this frightening flick. I was expecting a decent movie, but Z is so much more. I’ve been a horror fan for so long that I’ve become pretty jaded, but Z reminded me of why I fell in love with the horror genre in the first place. As horror fans, we are always in search of the next high, that moment when we feel like our heart will jump out of our chest, the times when we flinch in fear and are left with thoughts of a story swimming around in our heads. Z does that. The film follows a family whose son has become dangerous. He blames everything on his invisible friend Z, but it doesn’t take

Jason and his team have made feel welcome. Comet is ready to bring these stories to screen life.” Curtis will co-write Mother Nature along with Comet’s Head of Film and TV Development Russell Goldman.
