The Golden Globe Nominated Horror ‘La Llorona’ Is Coming To Digital

RLJE Films is set to unleash the politically charged Golden Globe nominated horror film La Llorona this March. La Llorona blends together the terror of both myth and reality into a devastating exposé of the genocidal atrocities against the Mayan community in Guatemala. Through a modern retelling of the classic Latin American legend, La Llorona forces a reckoning with not-so-distant crimes that should not have ever have been forgotten. The story centers on indignant retired general Enrique who finally faces trial for the genocidal massacre of thousands of Mayans decades ago. As a horde of angry protestors threatens to invade their opulent home, the women of the house – his haute wife, conflicted daughter, and precocious granddaughter – weigh their responsibility to shield the erratic, senile Enrique against the devastating truths behind being publicly revealed and the increasing sense that a wrathful supernatural force is targeting them for his crimes. Meanwhile, much of the family’s domestic staff flee, leaving only

This March, A Family Will ‘Know Fear’

This March Amy Carlson (“Blue Bloods”), Mallory Bechtel (Hereditary), and David Alan Basche (War of the Worlds) face a demon in the supernatural indie horror film Know Fear. “After discovering an ancient book of the occult in their new home, Donald Capel’s (David Alan Basche) wife Wendy (Amy Carlson) is seized by a demonic entity, nearly killing her. Donald’s niece (Mallory Bechtel) activates a dangerous ritual in the book used to identify and banish demons, a ritual forcing each member of the family to communicate with the demon in their own unique way: to see it, hear it, or speak to it.” Director Jamison M. LoCascio had this to say: HORROR is a grossly misunderstood genre; people blow it off as B level entertainment but some of the most influential filmmakers of all time are JOHN CARPENTER and ALFRED HITCHCOCK who have been emulated obsessively by countless filmmakers working today. WHY? Because they harnessed GENRE filmmaking, got people to buy

‘Wrong Turn’ Director Mike P. Nelson Talks Traps And Much More In Our Interview

It’s rare these days, but sometimes a reboot outdoes the original. That’s the case with 2021’s Wrong Turn from director Mike P. Nelson, which is a little more sophisticated than its predecessors, but just as bloody. I sat down with the director to talk about the film. HorrorFuel: “I must say, I was impressed by Wrong Turn, it’s rare that I say I love a reboot, so take it as a serious compliment.” Mike P. Nelson: “Awesome! It’s a little different.” HorrorFuel: “It feels a little more sophisticated, I guess that’s a good way to explain it. I was a little worried when it was first announced. I always am when I hear the word “reboot.” I wondered just how different it would be. Mike P. Nelson: “Oh, well thank you. Oh my gosh, well I mean, that was a gamble we took with this one. We were like, ‘We either do it all the way or we don’t do

Blu-ray Review: Castle of the Creeping Flesh (1968)

Ever-horny Baron Brack (Michel Lemoine), he of the atrocious dubbing and wild hootenannies, leads a group of revelers to the ornate, though dilapidated, home of Count Graf Saxon (Howard Vernon) to continue the party-hardy fracas. What does Saxon think of the swingin’ sumbitches who have invited themselves in? He seems to give not a single fuck… rather, he does the Chatty Cathy bag and fills the gang in on his family history and the fate of his daughter who was recently (like an hour ago) raped and killed in the nearby woods. I’m sure he has no plans for all of the sexy ladies that have fallen into his lap… Naturally he does have a plan… a batshit crazy one too, involving resurrecting his daughter with all of his new found female flesh! Oh, and a bear is involved as is so often the case… If Castle of the Creeping Flesh is anything it’s atmospheric. The sets utilized to bring
