Netflix Review: Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight Is Basic At Best

I had heard good things about writer-director Bartosz M. Kowalski’s new horror film Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight so I decided to give it a try. The movie centers on a group of teens who have been sent to a remote camp in the woods because of their addiction to technology, phones, computers, gaming, YouTube, etc… Of course, when you take a bunch of teens into the woods on a camping trip things are bound to go wrong. When a cannibal killer discovers the group he begins picking them off one by one. If imitation is the biggest form of flattery, then this movie is a love letter to slashers. What I saw was a mishmash of bits of and ideas from horror classics, including Friday the 13th, Wrong Turn, Scream, Hatchet, Tucker and Dale vs Evil, and more. And It’s filled to the brim with basic horror troupes. Every character is right out of the horror handbook, a

We May Actually Be Getting A Sequel To ‘Killer Klowns From Outer Space”

After years of rumors, we may be actually getting a sequel to the 1988 horror comedy Killer Klowns From Outer Space! During a discussion with ComicBook.com about his Netflix film Alien Xmas, Stephen Chiodo talked about his and his brother’s (Charles Chiodo) classic, saying that the brother duo is currently in talks with Netflix about making a Kill Klowns sequel. We are talking to them. We’re talking all the time. Get this: we’ve been trying to do a sequel (Killer Klowns From Outer Space) since we made the film and fans get angry with us. We don’t mention it too much, because they get angry. They say, ‘Oh, what’s the matter with you guys?’ But we’re trying. The business is just a bear, moves at a glacial pace. There’s interest, and it wanes and flows. You get some executives who really want to do it, then, all of a sudden, musical chairs. They’re out, a new regime is in, and

While flying to his father’s funeral in rural Appalachia, an intense storm causes Marquis (Omari Hardwick) to lose control of the plane carrying him and his family. He awakens wounded, alone, and trapped in Ms. Eloise’s (Loretta Devine) attic, who claims she can nurse him back to health with the Boogity, a Hoodoo figure she has made from his blood and skin. Unable to call for help, Marquis desperately tries to outwit and break free from her dark magic and save his family from a sinister ritual before the rise of the blood moon. Enter ‘The Wicked Woods’ – Out Now On DVD And VOD

Enter The Wicked Woods – now out on DVD and VOD from Bayview Entertainment. A haunting, cryptic, ethereal mood piece that skillfully sustains an aura of dread and tension throughout. An unhappily married woman and her lover take a weekend retreat at a cabin in the woods to discuss their future. Soon, they find themselves besieged by forces outside the cabin, rushing past windows, making strange noises, appearing and then disappearing within the house; in the fog outside, they make themselves visible as a strange old man in trapper’s garb, a nude woman, and little children in cloaks. Only the sacrifice of one of them can save the other on a night when the portals of another dimension have opened to take their souls and punish them for their actions in life. Unconventional and enigmatic. In Spanish with English subtitles. Directed by Lucio A. Rojas, The Wicked Woods (aka Perfidy) starring Catherine Mazoyer, Iñigo Urrutia, and Daniel Antivilo, the film

Season three of the series “Etheria“, featuring 11 new episodes, is landing on Amazon this November. “Etheria” Season 3 takes viewers to strange new worlds with shorts directed by women giving center stage to medieval warlords and magicians, musical androids, apocalyptic western gunslingers, inescapable time loops, a buddy comedy with a dead body, middle-aged female mercenary assassins, homicidal hairstylists, demented surreal slashers, and spare body parts. Universally praised for their innovative approach to the genre, these nine short episodes defy expectations and challenge beliefs about women directors.
