Two Making A Murder Specials Airing This Weekend

We reported a few days ago that a possible second season is in the works for the Netflix original documentary Making A Murder, the latest true crime obsession about the conviction of Stephen Avery. Now, news has come that two networks will be airing specials about the documentary about the possible innocents of Avery this weekend. Today (Friday) Dateline will air its special at 10 m (est). The special will feature interviews with Ken Kratz, the prosecutor who handled Avery’s case. An interview with Avery’s former lawyer Jerry Buting and an interview with Penny Beernsten – the victim of the sexual assault that Avery spent 18 years behind bars for. On Saturday at 9 pm (est) Investigation Discovery will air a special titled Steven Avery: Innocent or Guilty? . For those of you not familiar with the case let me explain. 2013’s Supernatural Horror Film Mama Getting A Sequel

The writing/directing team of Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, who were behind indie-horror hit Starry Eyes have entered into negotiations to make the sequel to 2013’s supernatural thriller Mama. Universal is eager to get the project under way according to The Hollywood Reporter. Mama followed to young sisters who had spent five years alone in an abandoned home deep in the woods, but where they really alone? The girls are haunted by a ghastly mother figure that they call “Mama”. When the girls are found and sent to live with their uncle, Mama came with them. Now, as the girls try to adjust to their new life Mama is causing problems. She doesn’t want to let them go. The original was directed by Andres Muschietti, with Guillermo del Toro serving as executive producer. The film starred Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier and Isabelle Nelisse.

Will Slender Man Appear In The Next Season Of American Horror Story?

It’s never long after the season finale of American Horror Story before the theories and the possible plots for the next season begin to pop up. US Weekly has reported that a reliable source has revealed that season 6 will involve the popular internet-born legend of Slender Man. “Someone else wrote the script, and American Horror Story wants to adapt it to fit the show.” Stated the insider. “They have to buy the rights. Then they’re going to figure out the cast from there.” The show’s producers want to include Lady Gaga in the next season. Gaga took home a Golden Globe for role in American Horror Story Hotel, so it’s easy to imagine that she might return for season 6. We already reported that Jessica Lange and Emma Roberts would both be featured in the upcoming season. We can only hope that other cast members from previous seasons will also return. A First Look At Trent Moran’s Supernatural Thriller Something’s On The Roof

A middle class family moves into a home in a new neighborhood and immediately sense that they are being watched. After only a few days in their new home they begin to hear footsteps on their roof followed by a series of increasingly sinister occurrences that leave them searching for answers. Trent Moran (Inventing Happiness) joins the horror community with his first genre film Something’s on the Roof. Kerry Fleming (Rock Paper Dead), Christine Nicole (The New York Underground) and Davis Weir (Inventing Happiness) serve as producers for the supernatural thriller, which is now in early preproduction. The film is designed to manipulate our darkest psychological fears. The Blackout Experiments focuses on a group of friends whose experiences with a dark psycho-sexual horror experience develop into an obsession that consumes their lives and blurs the lines between reality and their paranoid fantasies. The shocking footage that explores the dark side of each of us, is allegedly 100% real. The documentary was directed and edited by Rich Fox, with Kris Curry serving as producer. The First Image From Leatherface Surfaces

The first official image from directing duo of Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo’s upcoming film Leatherface has been revealed via Bloody-Distgusting. Leatherface, the prequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic horror film Texas Chainsaw Massacre, stars Lili Taylor (The Conjuring), Stephen Dorff (Blade), Nicole Andrews, Julian Kostov (London Has Fallen), Angela Bettis (Dig), James Bloor (North), Jessica Madsen (Breathless) and EastEnders’ Sam Strike as Jackson, young Leatherface. The film fallows Jackson, a violent young man, as he escapes a mental hospital along with three other patients. The group kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on the road trip from hell. During their run for freedom they are pursued by a Texas Ranger, who is just as crazy as they are; and the Ranger is Hell bent on getting revenge. Leatherface will be out later this year. Two New Original Horror Series Coming To Hulu

TV networks have jumped on the horror band wagon lately, airing new shows with roots in the genre. Hulu, like Netflix, is adding new original horror series and films. Today we can report that Hulu is adding two new original horror series to their programming. Both new series are from Paramount Television and Anonymous Content. The first project, Citizen, is said to be a fresh take on the hero origin story. The series will blend magic and vigilantism in supernatural Los Angeles. The script will be penned by Alfornso Gomez-Rejon, Josh Pate and Nicholas Schutt and will be directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. The second series titled When the Street Lights Go On is based on the script written by Chris Hutton and Eddie O’Keefe and directed by Brett Morgan, according to Variety. The show is a coming-of-age thriller that takes place in a small town rocked by the murder of a high school student and a teacher in the 1980’s.

First Teaser Trailer For Rob Zombie’s 31

We were concerned when Rob Zombie’s upcoming film 31 scored a NC-17 rating that would have made it next to impossible for the film to be shown in theaters, but after three attempts he finally got it accepted as rated “R”. There’s more good news, the first official poster for 31 and the first teaser trailer have both been unveiled for Zombie’s creepy clown slasher-film. Hopefully Zombie will release a new, more revealing trailer soon. 31 follows a group of five carnival workers, kidnapped just before Halloween. The group is held in a compound known as “Murder World”. If they can survive for twelve hours against a group of psychos dressed as twisted clowns, they will be set free. The film stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Meg Foster, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Tracy Walter, Poncho Moler, Jane Carr, Lew Temple, Ginger Lynn, Daniel Roebauck, E.G. Emiliano Rocha Minter’s first feature film,We Are the Flesh is being backed by Carlos Reygadas (Silent Light) and The Revenant director Alajandro Gonzalez Inarritu. We Are the Flesh is set in post-apocalypse Mexico, where Lucio and Fauna, brother and sister, have explored the ruins of the city looking for supplies and food. When the duo enter one of the last surviving buildings they meet a man who makes them a dangerous offer that would increase their chances of survival. How far would you go to survive? We Are the Flesh will premiere at Rotterdam Fest on February 2nd with the Theatrical and DVD release to follow later this year.
