Movie Review: Does ‘The Haunting Of The Queen Mary’ Sink or Swim?

The Haunting of the Queen Mary is out now in theaters. I watched it, and I have some thoughts. This horror, directed by Gary Shore (Dracula Untold), explores the mysterious and violent events surrounding one family’s voyage on Halloween night in1938 with their story interwoven with the destiny of another family onboard the infamous ocean liner in the present day. The film also integrates the characters of the ship’s crew, both past and present, giving us three stories to follow. The film required a large cast of characters, and that led to a flaw. We didn’t get to know a lot of the characters intimately, leaving many feeling a bit hollow. The main characters played by Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness, Belgravia), Joel Fry (Cruella, Game of Thrones), and Nell Hudson (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) had their flaws as well. Sneak Peek Lands Ahead Of “Invasion” Season Two Premiere

Ahead of its season two premiere this week, we have a new sneak peek clip from Apple TV’s hit series “Invasion.” From Academy Award-nominated and two-time Emmy Award-nominated producer Simon Kinberg, who serves as showrunner, and David Weil, “Invasion” is a sweeping, character-driven science fiction drama series that follows an alien invasion through different perspectives worldwide. The action-packed second season of “Invasion” picks up just months after the first season’s events, with the aliens escalating their attacks in an all-out war against the humans. The series stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Paddy Holland, and Tara Moayedi. Leprechaun 3: Blending Horror with Comedy in Sin City

The Leprechaun franchise has long been the pinnacle of cinema, where horror meets comedy. Very few storylines have ever pulled this off, and the Leprechaun series is one of the best to do it. The franchise went live with the first Leprechaun film, released in 1993. Our focus in this post is the third film in the series, Leprechaun 3. It still retains the horror flavor of the malevolent legend of the gold-seeking Leprechaun but puts it in Las Vegas, the city of casinos. Plot Synopsis: A Las Vegas pawn shop owner manages to get his hands on a Leprechaun statue. The medallion on its neck is a mysterious object to keep him dormant. Once the shop owner accidentally removes the medallion, the film kicks off to unleash hell on Las Vegas. Of course, he’s looking for gold throughout the movie. That’s what they do. Just when the Leprechaun is roaming the city, college student Scott McCoy comes into town.

Found Footage Film ‘Malibu Horror Story’ Announces Release Date

News following titles being released this October keeps coming – not that we are complaining. One of the films heading your way this spooky season is the found footage horror film Malibu Horror Story whose new poster has just been unveiled. Ten years in the making, the film from writer-director-producer Scott Slone is a love letter to found-footage films like Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield. It entered into development in the late 2000s and was filmed over the course of over ten years and marries multiple genres, including crime, mystery, and horror. The film’s cast includes Dylan Sprayberry (Teen Wolf, Light as a Feather, Sick), Robert Bailey Jr. (Nightshift, Emergence), Valentina de Angelis (Gossip Girl), Rebecca Forsythe (Replace, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit). Movie Review: August Underground (2001) – Unearthed Films

Writer/director/producer/actor Fred Vogel’s 2001 found-footage free-for-all August Underground (co-written by Allen Peters) is light on story… in fact the entirety of the film’s 70 minute run-time can be summed up thusly: two serial killers on a spree of mayhem and murder film their exploits… but it’s in building that world… that depraved, disgusting world that this film shines. Our two main madmen are played by those aforementioned fellas… Vogel in front of the lens, and Allen behind it (and I’m sure plenty can be made of the psychological meaning behind the artist becoming one with their art)… and both uncredited for their performances… and the feature holds nothing back showing what these two rollicking rascals are up to, and what they are up to results in hard-to-watch, unflinching degradation and violence… so much so that you’ll swear you’re watching a real-deal snuff picture… and therein lies the genius of the piece.
