Tensions Rise As A Group Is Isolated Due To A Biological Threat In ‘Darkness in Tenement 45’

Writer-director Nicole Groton‘s female-driven horror thriller Darkness in Tenement 45 about a biological threat that causes people to seek isolation, a topic very poignant these days, is set to arrive this November. The award-winning film is set in the 1950s centers on “Joanna (Nicole Tompkins) who has been living with her overbearing Aunt Martha, in a low-income NYC tenement building ever since a violent outburst left her fighting a force that she can only describe as the “darkness.” Little did she know that weeks after moving in, a biological threat from the Soviet Union would leave the building boarded up and the tenants locked inside. With food dwindling and Martha’s controversial role as leader expanding, Joanna rallies the children in an attempt to save the building. Tensions come to a violent head when Martha delves into Joanna’s past and Joanna struggles to keep the darkness from overtaking her entirely.” Nicole Tompkins, David Labiosa, Melissa Macedo, Casey Kramer, Keyon Bowman, and

‘Human Hibachi’ Deemed To Extreme By Amazon

The blood-drenched indie cannibal horror Human Hibachi was set to arrive on Amazon this month but has now been banned on Amazon due to its intense, horrific, and graphic nature. But don’t worry, you can still witness the carnage this month on the official Human Hibachi website. In the film, a man documents his girlfriend’s 35th birthday on his phone. What he captures throughout the night are the most disturbing human acts imaginable. So when I made this film, I knew some of the stuff that I put in it might exclude us from platforms like Amazon, however, I wanted to see my vision through so I wasn’t going to let that hold me back. The main goal was to make something different… something that will be remembered and I’ll take that over being rejected by a platform any day.” Director Mario Cerrito states. Elizabeth Gaynor, Carmine Giordano, Wataru Nishida, Carley Harper, Sopheaktra Theng, Andrew Hunsicker, John Campanile, and Stafford

Movie Review: 3 Day Weekend (2020)

Ben (Morgan Krantz) gets the shit-hot idea to go camping for a three day weekend after calling it quits with his main squeeze. Well that idea goes tits-up with the quickness, as upon his arrival to that fateful forest, our boy Benny discovers a hearing impaired woman named Shan (Maya Stojan) locked in the trunk of a car… and the dude responsible doesn’t take kindly to intrusions on his kidnapping biz. Now it’s up to our hero to solve the mystery (which ends up involving buried treasure hidden in a duo of safes, and a strange map utilized to locate them) armed as he is with the victim’s cellphone… and believe you me that lil’ bit of the ol’ sleuthin’ ends up having more twists n’ turns than a sinister sidewinder! Written and directed by Wyatt McDill, 3 Day Weekend is nothing if not a flat-out modern crime masterpiece. Featuring a limited cast, a handful of locations (mostly exteriors), and

Netflix Review: “The Haunting of Bly Manor” Is Not Perfectly Splendid

Last year, when Netflix aired the genre series “The Haunting of Hill House,” I had no clue that a series could ever reach the ranks it did in my book. A nearly perfect series unfolded before, and I was left bragging about it to anyone who would listen. I’ve seen the series four times since the first time I was introduced to the Crian family. So imagine my excitement when “The Haunting of Bly Manor” was announced; I was ecstatic, to put it mildly. With many of “Hill House’s” cast returning, I knew in my heart that this season would be just as good as the first; you could say that I had high hopes. But did it stand up to my expectations? That’s what I’m here to discuss. Based on Henry James’ “Turning of the Screw” as well as a few other of James’ stories, “The Haunting of Bly Manor” is a haunting tale of a young American teacher

Blu-ray Review: Cold Light of Day (1989)

Presenting the murder biz of one Cranley Gardens serial killer, named Denis Nielsen in real life but having the handle of Jorden March (Bob Flag, sporting one hell of a wig) here in a move that just screams “We ain’t payin’ shit to use this asshole’s real name”, and his hapless (seriously, this dude just kills people… he doesn’t really know why he does it, the cops never really figure it out, and besides a drop of childhood trauma the film never really seems to give a damn either) journey through a wicked wonderland of diabolical dismemberment. Speaking of which, the gritty pseudo-real aesthetic that permeates this fright flick is undoubtedly the greatest asset it possesses, as it’s gritty, unpolished visuals give the affair (an endless parade of picking up male victims that won’t be missed, followed by the hoary ol’ chestnuts of sex and murder… all of which are presented in an unglamorous, nearly mundane manner) a near documentary
