Mandao Returns, the sequel to writer-director Scott Dunn‘s 2018 sci-fi horror comedy Mandao of the Dead, has now landed on Amazon Prime. “Jay Mandao is not your average hero. He’s an astral projecting time traveler who spends his days hanging with his adult nephew Jackson, crashing on his scheming cousin Andy’s couch, and riding with his cabbie friend Fer. In the days leading up to Christmas, Jay tries to make contact with his deceased father Raymond but ends up contacting the ghost of B-movie star, Aura Garcia. Aura enlists the gang to astral project back in time to prevent her death. Jay quickly finds out that the more he messes with time, the more he falls down a rabbit hole of cults, conspiracies, and death. This Christmas is gonna kick astral!” Mandao Returns is headlined by Jenny Lorenzo (“Victor and Valentino”, “Gentefied”), Jim O’Doherty (“Third Rock from the Sun”, “Grounded for Life”), Sean Liang (“American Horror Story: 1984”), Scott Dunn,

Reading ‘We Bleed Red & Green: 12 Chilling Tales For Christmas’ Needs To Be Your New Christmas Tradition (Review)

Merry Christmas, everyone! I love the ever-growing genre of Holiday Horror and Jeff C. Carter has added a brand new collection of short stories to the holiday horror world. His collection We Bleed Red and Green is not ONLY a short story collection, but a unique, fun, gory, original collection of stories, poetry, parodies, coded messages and more. In his book, Carter does not shy away from horror and gore, but he also finds a way to really have the Christmas spirit present in his world of darkness and fear. This anthology is a perfect way for Carter to show off his writing abilities in a variety of styles. As much as I enjoyed each individual story, I enjoyed how unique each story was from each other and how well each story was written. This collection never gets repetitive or boring, it is a different feeling and a different nightmare on every page. Some stories are clever and funny, some

‘A Seed In A Soil Of Sorrow’ Is A Fantastic, Horrifying Short Story (Review)

There are not many things I love reading more than short stories. Make it a horror short stories and it makes it better. Make it a horror short story about a wicked cult and it piques my interest even more. Make it a horror short story about a wicked cult and write it in a unique way and you have an instant winner for me. Keith Anthony Baird has done the perfect recipe in his short story A Seed in a Soil of Sorrow. Characters In stories about cults, the most important character is the cult leader. It is hard to create a character charismatic and intelligent enough to have both the characters in the book and the readers understand why the cult is intriguing. It is also difficult to not just follow a cookie cutter pattern of successful cult leader characters, but to create a unique leader. Baird not only creates a leader who is charismatic, intriguing, and believable,

Season three of the series “Etheria“, featuring 11 new episodes, is landing on Amazon this November. “Etheria” Season 3 takes viewers to strange new worlds with shorts directed by women giving center stage to medieval warlords and magicians, musical androids, apocalyptic western gunslingers, inescapable time loops, a buddy comedy with a dead body, middle-aged female mercenary assassins, homicidal hairstylists, demented surreal slashers, and spare body parts. Universally praised for their innovative approach to the genre, these nine short episodes defy expectations and challenge beliefs about women directors. Featured actors include Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (The Man in the High Castle), James Hong (Big Trouble in Little China), Lyndsy Fonseca (“Agent Carter”), Marta Larralde (Gran Hotel), Gregory Marcel (“General Hospital”), and Najarra Townsend (Contracted). Paul C. Williams Creates A Dark World Worth Exploring in ‘The Shadow Of Hades’ – Book Review

The Shadow of Hades by Paul C. Williams is a very interesting and dark book. Four stories, intertwined, but not in obvious ways (think Trick R’ Treat style story-weaving). Williams took on a huge challenge with this book and really showed his ability as a writer by creating a novel with such depth and strength. I love that he didn’t fall prey to having to have each page so action-packed that people mistake adrenaline for a good plot. The plot is exceptionally strong and draws the reader in if you’re willing to put in the work Williams demands (and deserves) as a reader. Characters The characters in this book are deep and diverse. I felt very attached emotionally to the majority of them and with the style of Williams’ writing, there was time and space to really learn about the character…but also wanting more. I wanted more because I cared about their story, I cared about who they were and
