There have been many horror spoofs over the years. Now, a new horror-comedy, titled Boo! A Madea Halloween, is combining the aspects of horror we love with a popular character with a franchise of their own, and you have to love the poster.
Coming this Halloween, Tyler Perry’s Medea will face ghosts, zombies, and famous horror gags like scary phone calls, insane people, home invasions, and more.
For those of you who have never heard of Medea, let me explain. Medea is a foul-mouthed, gun-toting, 6’5″, hilarious, ex-stripper, who is a blunt. She is a no-nonsense type of woman. Medea is played by writer/director Tyler Perry. Medea’s franchise includes television series, plays, films, and a book written from her point-of-view. Tyler Perry, who has 12 awards and 37 award nominations, first introduced the character on film in Diary of a Mad Black Woman, based on the play by the same name.
In Boo! A Madea Halloween, Media ends up in the middle of mayhem when she spends a haunted Halloween fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls, and zombies, all while keeping an eye on a group of misbehaving teens.
Perry will co-star alongside Bella Thorne, John West Jr., Kian Lawley, Yousef Erakat, Diamond White, Jimmy Tatro, Patrice Lovely, Andre Hall, Cassie Davis, and others.
Boo! A Media Halloween will open in theaters on October 21st from Lionsgate.
