The next installment of the Tremors franchise is currently filming in Cape Town, South Africa. The first images are already beginning to come in. Director Don Michael Paul just shared a new behind the scenes image on his instagram account of Jamie Kennedy in a sticky, gooey, tight spot, inside a Graboid. Yuck.
The Graboids have continued to evolve throughout the ‘Tremors’ franchise. This time, they are going high-tech, they are being weaponized. Not only will Burt and Travis have a new threat to handle, they will be doing it in the snow, which is a first for the franchise.
In Tremors VI, Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters when they head to Canada to investigate a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Arriving at a remote research facility in the artic tundra, Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is sidelined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom — but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid!”
Don Michael Paul returns to direct this installment, based on the script by ‘Tremors V’ writer John Whelpley. Only three other cast members have officially been announced so far, Tanya van Graan (Death Race: Inferno), Rob van Vuuren (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), and Greg Kriek (Blood and Glory).
‘Tremors VI’ will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD some time next year from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a branch of Universal Pictures.
