Back in January we reported that news had come that Noomi Repace would not be starring in Ridley Scott’s upcoming sequel to Prometheus, Alien: Covenant. Her name has not been mentioned in connection with the film since, until now.
Deadline broke the news yesterday that Repace has now returned to her role as Elizabeth Shaw. Sources have spotted Repace on the Covenant set, shooting weeks worth of filming.
Shaw, was a main character in 2012’s Prometheus. In Prometheus a team journeys across the universe in search of clues to the origins of man. The crew discovers a structure on a distant planet containing a monolithic statue of a humanoid head and cylinders of alien blood, but soon realize that they are not alone.
Alien: Covenant follows a ship bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. The crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world – whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. In the film we will witness all forms of the Xenomorphs for the first time in the series, from facehuggers to warriors.
Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Benjamin Rigby, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Callie Henandez, Alexander England and Carmen Ejogo co-star alongside Repace.
Alien: Covenant is set to land in theaters on August 4, 2017.
